Restaurants, Bars, Clubs and Nightlife in Seoul, Korea

Your Guide to Premium Nightlife in Seoul

Team SeoulGrid

Posted by Richard On August - 18 - 2008

Our goal is simple.  To deliver the latest news in nightlife scenes in Seoul.  This includes exposing the greatest restaurants, clubs and bars, as well as giving you information on the hottest parties and events.

We have a team of six people bouncing around corners of Seoul for one purpose that united us: No restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs go unvisited.

Here is the team, in no particular order.

Team SeoulGrid

Richard Choi

Richard Choi started a personal blog to write about nice bars and clubs in 2009.  This evolved to be SeoulGrid.com.  He recently self-diagnosed himself with what he calls “digital ADHD”, symptoms of which include twittering everything he sees to jumping between twenty nine tabs of Google Chrome.  He used to throw parties back in the days when Pterodactyls were considered fashionable. If you spot him at one of the venues, mention you’re an avid reader of SeoulGrid and he might just get you a martini.

James Duffy

Hailing from Washington DC, James originally came to Seoul to see the other side of the world. He soon discovered Seoul’s party scene, and the rest is history.  His life is currently spent oscillating between Garosugil cafes during the day, cocktail lounges at night, and house clubs on the weekends.  Somewhere in the midst of the chaos he finds time to make videos and write for SeoulGrid, and he can also occasionally be found sleeping. Check out his current project, Korea Job Finder.

Michael Porto

Michael Porto is a gregarious member of Team SeoulGrid and was raised in Beaverton, Oregon.  These humble beginnings eventually led him to The Johns Hopkins University where he quickly became friends with someone equally as weird, Richard Choi.  After many years of separation, Michael and Richard were reunited in Korea and have teamed up to provide you with quality services.  In his free time he enjoys cooking, traveling, and engineering.

Jed Lee

Jed is a complicatedly intriguing person with a unique character: part an engineer, an art-lover, a boxer, a business school student, and an open-minded person who likes to see different things in the world — and write about them. After saying “the hell with this” upon graduating from Imperial College London, Jed packed his bag and left the UK after six years of long journey. Living alone in London inspired Jed to constantly experience better quality life via seeking out better food, films, paintings and sculptures. He is also the president of LJStore.com, an online luxury products store.

Kiara Lee

Kiara Lee is a 100% Seoulite, born and raised in Seoul. Before Kiara was absorbed into the party scene in its entirety, she ran a popular blog where she posted about her passion for art — paintings, photography, movies, and music. After sucking the life out of a passion that she exuded infectious love for, she closed down the blog and sought social relationships. Kiara is a huge fan of sports; she has black belt in Taekwondo, and enjoys paragliding and scuba diving. She is also the founder and vice president of an equestrian club called ‘Chevalier.’ Kiara’s active and outgoing personality led her to Team SeoulGrid.
