Having a private party in Korea always comes as a challenge. Hotels are pricey and it can be hard to make reservations, while karaoke places usually don’t provide enough space for a large group of people. The solution to this problem is Awesome Lounge — a hidden gem in Cheongdam which offers private rooms with sufficient space for your event, as well as an extensive bottle menu and finger foods.
Awesome Lounge consists of a large hall and 2 rooms. The main hall can be rented for KRW 1,000,000 for one night, a price which includes KRW 500,000 worth of drinks. The rooms are each KRW 400,000 per night, and include KRW 200,000 worth of drinks. The two rooms can each fit about 10 people. Finger foods can also be provided for an additional cost.
So far, Awesome Lounge has been used for private events such as bridal showers, seminars, birthday and graduation parties, marriage proposals, and academic conferences. Such varieties of parties are possible because the lounge manager, Minseo Park, has had significant party planning experience and is willing to provide help no matter what type of event you want to host. The venue itself can be customized specifically to fit your concept for your party. Moreover, wireless broadband, WiFi internet, and projectors are available for customers, so the venue can be used for presentations as well.
In addition to private events, Awesome also hosts their own promotional parties. So far they’ve put on a Movie Night, an Acoustic Performance Party, and several Singles Parties, which are the only regularly occurring event of the lounge. They just had their grand opening in March this year, so expect more events in the future.

The operating hours are long, from 11:00am to 02:00am, so it is used as a cafe during the day and a wine bar or lounge at night. Since they only have one hall and two rooms, the staff offers excellent service. The current awesome special at Awesome is that they are throwing in a free bottle of Moet & Chandon when you host a party. This promotion will last until the end of June 2010.

Take a taxi to Hak-Dong Sagori, and walk towards KFC & Burger King. Turn right at the light, walk up the hill, and make your first left into an alley. Walk 5 minutes, and Awesome Lounge will be on your right. It is in the basement.
