Your Guide to Premium Nightlife in Seoul

Macaroni Market & Boutique Club Function, Itaewon

Redefining Trendiness in Seoul

Macaroni Market is by far one of my favorite hangout places in Seoul.  It’s not everywhere you can find a cafe & deli for a sandwich and a cup of tea, restaurant space for full course dinner and a private club where you can have a well-made cocktail or two while dancing the night away.

Pictures and descriptions after the jump.

Cafe & Deli

As you walk into Macaroni Market you are greeted by an interesting blend of warm ambiance of wooden interior decor and trendy combination of gray and black.

What you see when you enter Macaroni Market

As you make a right and walk deeper into the Cafe area you run into a display window sheltering a wide variety of fine cheese and ham from voracious diners with serious appetites.

Removable windows that span the entire length of the cafe can be opened and closed depending on weather.

Now you make your way into the Restaurant.

Restaurant Door

A door leading to the restaurant. I give them some props for the visual.

When you enter the Restaurant space you find yourself in a room with ambiance one dimension of class higher than what you just saw outside in the Cafe area.

Restaurant

Again, I give them props for the interior. But can the food keep up with my expectations?

The Restaurant area isn’t usually lit this brightly as you see in the picture above.  They usually have it dim and it looks completely different in a dimmer light setting.

Restaurant

Four roundtables that can seat about 6 people

Wanting to see if there is yet another element of this venue, I hurry to Club Function, Macaroni’s private boutique club.

Club Function

Yet another completely different venue inside a venue! Who would've imagined...

Now the club is a fusion of W Hotel’s Woobar for its minimalistic white decor and … and … I can’t come up with another venue in mind that will do my thoughts justice.

As soon as you take a look around the Club, you cannot fail to notice a round DJ booth made from black tiles situated right in the middle of the Club.

So that is the bar you see right there.  The Club has one of the best selection of drinks (single malt whisky to absinthe) available, definitely on par if not more than some hotel lounge bars in Seoul.

And finally, some sofabeds they have in the Club.

Seats at Club Function. It isn't as pink/violet as it seems in the photo.

I have yet to try their food for review.  I really hope I am not disappointed.  I’ve been to one too many restaurants in Korea where it’s all whistles and bells but there just isn’t any content.

actually macaroni renovated since the time of this review and there no longer is a restaurant they expanded boutique club function to the restaurant area so the whole restaurant space is a lounge now

the cafe area is still there tho and its pretty full during busy hours
